Who We Are
Apex Technical Training Of Technology Inc. operates this online study and exam-preparation platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website and to your student account.
What We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and the date you accepted our Terms of Purchase & Refund Policy.
- Purchase and membership records: what you bought, the amount, the date, your access expiry, and identifiers issued by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Learning records: chapters opened, time spent, quiz and practice-exam answers, scores, questions you answered incorrectly, and certificates issued. These records are also what we refer to when reviewing refund requests and payment disputes.
- Free practice test entries: if you submit your email to receive free practice-test results, we store your name, email, score, and — to prevent abuse of the form — your IP address and browser user-agent.
- Content-protection events: our course content is copyrighted. When you use the lesson viewer, we record attempts to screenshot, copy, cut, print, open developer tools, or use the right-click menu, along with the page involved and your browser user-agent. We record that an attempt happened; we do not capture the contents of your screen or clipboard.
- Technical information: standard information your browser sends when you visit, and the analytics described below.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's systems and are never sent to us or stored on ours. We receive only the outcome of the payment and the identifiers we need to match it to your account, manage your membership, and issue refunds. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Why We Use It
We use your information to create and secure your account, give you the access you paid for, track your progress and issue certificates, process payments and refunds, respond to your questions, protect our copyrighted content, meet our record-keeping obligations, and — where we are permitted to — tell you about our courses. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
AI Features
Some features use AI services: the lesson tutor answers questions about the chapter you are reading, and some lessons offer audio narration. The lesson text and the questions you type are sent to the AI provider that generates the response. Do not enter personal or sensitive information into the tutor — it is there to answer questions about the course material.
Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure which ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. These set their own cookies and share information with Google. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the sign-in cookies are required for the platform to work, but blocking the analytics and advertising cookies will not stop you using the site.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this platform on our behalf — our application and hosting platform, our payment processor, our email provider, our analytics and advertising providers, and our AI providers — and only as far as each needs to do its job. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim, including a payment dispute.
Where It Is Stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country is subject to that country's laws, and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.
How Long We Keep It
We keep account, purchase and learning records for as long as you have an account with us, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting, dispute and certificate-verification purposes. Free practice test entries are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Your Choices
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email us from the address on your account and we will respond. Some information we must keep even after an account is closed — for example, records of a purchase we are required to retain, or a certificate we have issued. Deleting your account ends your access to any course you have purchased, and does not entitle you to a refund.
Security
We restrict access to student records to the staff who need it, and our payment processing is handled by a provider that specialises in it. No online service can promise perfect security. Accounts are personal — keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Children
This platform is intended for apprentices, tradespeople and adult learners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.
